Duplicate content is large amounts of content in the same sentences that exist multiple times on the same domain. This used to be a popular trick to generate clicks, but is now penalized by Google. As a result, your website is more likely to slip further down the search results.

Our tip: For your online shop, it is therefore advisable not to simply use the manufacturer’s product texts, even if it is allowed. Write your own product texts of at least 300 to 400 words. In times of mobile-only,  for example, this is also influenced by loading times and core web vitals, but also by original texts and formulations.

Of course, if your texts describe generic topics, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. However, do not copy phrases or entire sentences from other pages. This is critical from a copyright point of view and is considered theft. Instead, write your own texts. They will bring you more readers in the long run.
